Winter Plaguebearers Update

While they're not done, the winter plaguebearers are starting to take solid shape. To wit:

Games Workshop plaguebearers, both multipart plastic and metal.
They're blue — bluer than I was aiming for in my last discussion — but I actually like how they've turned out. I like it a lot. The color nicely grounds them against the reds and oranges of the rest of the army. The white with blue shadows is also distinct from the ivory in my Death Guard models, which skews orange.

There's still plenty to do on these. The ivory portions — the teeth and exposed bone — need an eggshell highlight; I need to finish the plagueswords, probably with a nice, orange rust; and I have to finalize the bases with another layer of Nurgle's Rot (the shiny, snot-green color) and a layer of water. There's also a handful of details I haven't touched yet (the fistwraps on the far-right guy above, for example).

Finally, here's a glimpse at the least-finished portions of the models — their backs. The guy in the front rank, third from left, is the most complete; note the pallid purple-gray flesh and the highlighted spinal column.  For a far less successful version, look at the spinal ... spines on the guy in the second rank, far right. The yellow is too yellow, and there needs to be a transition from the pale blue-white flesh to the yellow spines; I'll have to re-approach that area when I finish these guys off.

Overall, I'm happy with how these guys are turning out.
